The Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act of 1915 had provisions clearly stating that if assistance were required whilst developing the land a 'rent holiday' with financial assistance could be provided. As you can see by this document an application had been sought for seed for pasture, fencing materials for new paddocks and ongoing general maintenance.
